The product story

About Black Longjing Tea

Black Longjing is a black tea rooted in the tea-making traditions around Hangzhou, China. The farmer describes a distinctive aroma, natural sweetness, and a smooth, mellow cup.

Also known as Jiuqu Hongmei (Nine-Bend Red Plum), this style developed when tea makers from the Wuyi Mountain region settled near Hangzhou in the nineteenth century. The farmer describes its finish as a combination of electric and sun drying, distinct from charcoal-roasted black teas.

One 5 g pack. Suggested preparation: steep 2.5 g of tea in 250 mL of water at 95°C for 3 minutes; adjust to taste.
